No doubt following my computer monitor’s example, today my tripod broke. I use that thing every day and this morning I managed to break one of the carbon fibre legs:

Of course, this happened before I got any photography done so I was basically lugging the thing around for nothing. Even worse, I ended up with a lot of nasty carbon fibre splinters in my hand, they have tiny barbs and won’t come out without a fight…
Thankfully the hike itself was great, I saw lots of grouse and squirrels, also a hawk, an otter and a snowshoe hare.

Lucky that your hike was a great one. For the rest it’s bad luck. I hope this is the end of it. Can you get a spare leg for your tripod ?. I hope so.
Thanks, I certainly hope I can replace one of the legs, I’ll have to find out at the store later. Right now it’s too beautiful outside to go to the store, perfect fall weather 🙂
Hopefully that’s the end of the bad luck, but in NL, we say that it always happens in threes!!!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you are done with it.
Oh no, not threes! Perhaps I can count an unexpected replacement of all four of our car tires last week among the three, them I’m done with it!
