October is here, and that means the hunt for fall colours is on!
Photographers from all over the island will be roaming the rock in search of that one picture perfect place where all the colours come together, but where exactly is that?
It’s different every year of course, no surprise there, but there are some places that always deliver when fall is in the air:
St. John’s parks
In St. John’s, try your luck in the city parks. Bowring Park especially is a great place to capture some vibrant colours:
East Coast Trail
The East Coast Trail may be dominated by evergreens but a burst of colour can definitely be had if you go to the right places, like for example Cape Spear Path, Motion Path, Spout Path and Flamber Head Path:
Terra Nova & Gros Morne
It almost goes without saying, but both of Newfoundland’s National Parks are great places to be in the fall. These areas are vastly scenic and have been protected for a long time so there’s a beautiful variety of colours to be found, even just on the side of the road:
Of course there are dozens of other great places around the island to see fall colours, like our many bays, valleys, and barrens; if you want to share your favourite place to go please leave a comment below. 🙂
