Rest in peace, snowy owl – Cape Spear

More than a hundred snowy owls have been seen along the east coast of Newfoundland this week, so it really isn’t surprising that some of the owls don’t make it. My guess is that most of the owls will starve this winter, it’s harsh but that’s nature. There wasn’t enough food up north and there isn’t enough food down here to support these large numbers of owls. The weather is also pretty dismal at the moment, I imagine it must be hard for an owl to find prey animals in these conditions:
