Today I stumbled upon a beautiful topographic resource that shows any map in the world as if it had been painted in watercolour. As an example, here’s a part of Newfoundland:
Gorgeous isn’t it, at first glimpse it’s hard to believe it’s not an actual painting but a digitally rendered map. Here is the website where I got this from.
Here’s a similar map, it’s St. John’s, you can see that the zoomed-in view offers more detail:
