Hiking during ‘stormy’ conditions can be interesting because the sea is so much rougher than usual.

Today on Spout Path I noticed a spout (blowhole) shooting up from the cliffs near Columbine Point. It was very loud and impressive, and it seemed to be the result of waves crashing into a narrow gulch which then had nowhere to go but up and out:

The waves you see here are still pre-Leslie waves, and I’m sure we’ll see much more impressive ones tomorrow, during the real storm.
