With temperatures soaring up to 30 degrees Celsius we didn’t need our imagination to pretend we were in the tropics, even on the usually ‘cool’ Fogo Island in the North Atlantic.
Here are a few photos from Sandy Cove beach, near the town of Tilting:
Marije and her parents soon discovered life in the small tidal pools:
Ever the biologist, Marije quickly got down on the rocks to get a closer look:
The tidal pool was too small to accommodate two photographers, so I walked down to the other side of the beach to stalk slightly larger prey:
It was fun following them underwater too:
After a while Marije joined me and the jellyfish:
It was a beautiful day on a beautiful beach, I wish I lived closer to it!
