It’s easy to spot whales right now, and it’s getting easier every day.

This afternoon after my capelin check I saw a group of Humpbacks from the Marine Drive viewpoint, they were feeding and breaching in front of Torbay Motion on Silver Mine Head Path, so that’s where I headed next.

At least six humpbacks were in the bay, probably more but I was able to count six of them at the same time. Two of them stole the show, a mom and calf were making synchronized jumps:
