It all started out with a slow leak in one of the front tires, every week it would lose almost a third of its pressure. We had the tire checked and the valve replaced, which didn’t solve anything. After that, the leak was joined by a wheezing noise coming from the engine when leaving our driveway on cold mornings, that noise would quiet down after the a few kilometres of warming up, but we scheduled an appointment at the garage nonetheless. Yesterday, dark storm clouds gathered over our car and added a final insult: unnerving sounds coming from the rear, as if raccoons were fighting to the death in our trunk. Unfortunately, there are no raccoons in Newfoundland, so it was the car that was making all this racket. Sigh.
Now, we’re stuck at home, until we can get the car fixed. This of course isn’t before tuesday, thanks to the Thanksgiving weekend.
