I spent a few hours in Bowring Park today, watching trout jumping the big waterfall in the Waterford River. It was great to be outside on what probably was the last real summer day of the season.
Fall has been creeping up on us for a few weeks now, nights are getting colder and some leaves have already started to turn.
What’s worse is that we’ll probably have some foul weather coming in this week with Igor supposedly bringing a lot of rain, perhaps on Tuesday. If the current forecast pans out we’re sure to be looking at flooding around Quidi Vidi Lake and all the other usual spots.
Even the trout will have a tough time after Igor comes through; the water level will rise considerably which means they’ll face increasingly unfavourable odds of successfully scaling these white water rapids.
