It’s that time of year again, whales are coming in closer to shore every day and large flocks of gulls congregate on the water, peering into the deep. At Middle Cove beach you will often see people looking out over the ocean, you can almost hear them thinking “Are they in yet?”. The answer to that question as of this morning: No, not yet.

On the way back from the beach I couldn’t help but notice all the blooming flowers on the side of the road, so I took these snapshots of this particularly colourful patch of Lupins:
