These last three days we’ve been hiking almost around the clock, many short hikes on the Grand Concourse and a few longer ones on the East Coast Trail.

We’ve seen all sorts of weather: freezing winds, veiling fog, drenching rains and scorching sunshine. Here are some photos I took of my mom on the trail:

Mom at Useless Bay – Spout Path

Mom at the Pulpit – Spout Path

Mom at Torbay Point – Cobbler Path (Formerly Red Cliff Path)

Mom at a small obstacle – Blackhead Path

Mom looking for whales – Father Troy’s Trail

Mom near Church Cove – Father Troy’s Trail

Whale watching – Cape Spear

Today, when the day was almost at an end, mom spotted a minke whale very close to shore beneath us at Cape Spear!
