I’ve been enjoying quite a few night hikes lately, last night I walked Cape Spear Path from Maddox Cove to Big Black Head and back.

Starting out around sunset I had nearly clear skies, ideal conditions to see the stars come out, but before they were able to show themselves clouds rolled in, obscuring my view of the night sky:

Clouds rolling in – Cape Spear Path

Show’s over – Cape Spear Path

This last shot was taken in the dark on the way back, the ruddy glow in the far right is the light pollution coming off St. John’s.
