I just came back from a short outing along Marine Drive. While everything is white and pretty from some fresh snow we received last night, it’s very cold outside. The weather report says it’s -12°, or -23° if your fooling around in the chilling wind, like I was on the beach just now.
It’s not as bad as it sounds though, you just have to wear your gloves and something to cover your head, otherwise the blowing snow will get in your ears and that’s just very uncomfortable.

The good news is that in this kind of weather I can just walk over the river to get to the other side of the beach, the bad news is that the freezing temperatures don’t endure and pop over 0° every now and then, preventing the frozen waterfall at the end of the beach to reach ‘maturity’:
See what I mean? Here are a few fallen icicles below the falls, some no thicker than my leg, some as fat as a tree trunk!
