This week we finally had some sea ice in the bay, the ice we saw (and tasted) was freshwater ice and must have come from the far-away glaciers in the Baffin Bay, just like the big icebergs.
Yesterday the whole of Torbay Bight was filled right up to the shoreline (shown above). Both me and Marije jumped on a large piece (see below) that had almost grounded on the beach:
Today we even saw a huge iceberg on the horizon, I suppose it’s our first real sighting but it’s nothing to get excited about because it was much too far away.
