Harbour Seals often haul themselves out of the water to rest, this uncomfortable rock wouldn’t be my first choice though:

To me, these cushy rocks looked a lot more inviting, and evidently to these seals too:

Glad you enjoyed the post narhvalur.
As I see the look on the first one his face, he or she did’nt like the this rock also. ( Have you seen something of the sunstorm this night?. Over here it was no clear sky only in Groningen and Drente)
I’ve been on the lookout for the Aurora these past few days, but given our southern latitude the solar flare would have to be very special indeed to ‘ignite’ the sky all the way over here.
In Holland you stand a better chance of seeing something because you are much closer to the auroral oval, but then again it’ll be hard to peer through the massive light pollution. Had I been in Holland right now, I would quickly book a few nights in a bed & breakfast on Schiermonnikoog
7 seals in the Holyrood marina this morning! 1 huuuuuge shy one. It’s triple the size of the others! It wouldn’t let me get any closer than the road.
Good news Chris, I’ve seen a couple of them there for a few weeks now, glad to see their numbers are increasing. It’s always nice to see a seal on the ice
